The Freedom Golf Classic, a new addition to the Rosa Parks Day in Alabama celebration, is set to take place at Cottonwood Golf Club. Opened in 1977, the 18-hole golf course was designed by Masters Champion Byron Nelson and the Legendary Joe Finger. This event is designed for players aged 12 to 18, this two-day tournament aims to introduce and promote the game of golf within the community.
Beyond the thrill of competition, participants have the opportunity to earn Junior Scoreboard Ranking and qualify for the Nota Begay Championship. By hosting the tournament in the capital city, players will also be immersed in the civil rights history that originated there, creating a unique blend of sportsmanship and historical awareness.
